The Summer Solstice gig with The Paul Winter Consort was magical! The performance began in the dark with the musicians approaching the stage from various locations throughout the cathedral while playing. As the concert progressed, the sunrise illuminated the stained glass windows. It was a humbling experience to play with these amazing musicians, an event to cherish. Paul Winter\'s spirit is amazing.

New CD from Hirotaka Ogawa & Yukiko Matsuyama

It was an honor to perform with Shakira and her incredible band at the Latin Grammy Awards. A wonderful opportunity to share the Japanese koto with viewers from around the world too!

Yukiko Matsuyama performed with her band at the San Diego Museum of Art\'s private donor event celebrating the opening of \'Dyeing Elegance: Asian Modernism and the Art of Kuboku and Hisako Takaku.\' The exhibition features work by Master of Roketsuzome (ancient wax resist dyeing) Kuboku Takaku (1908 - 1993) and his daughter Hisako. This father-daughter team produced thousands of unique designs and textile paintings on obi, kimono, and screens, 70 of which will be on view for the first time outside of Japan. During the 1920\'s, artists in Japan like Takaku considered it to be essential that traditional handcraftsmanship, Asian philosophies, and spirituality be preserved in the face of mass industrialization, while embracing some aspects of modernity.
